The global trend towards flexible work arrangements have many people wanting a new career as a Virtual Assistant or Online Business Manager.

As a Virtual Assistant I know this is absolutely a great career to get into if you enjoy working with both people and technology.

The "secret sauce" really comes in when you identify what your area of specialization or niche is.

Some VA's offer very specific services for individual clients, but the sky really is the limit when it comes to running your own Virtual Assistant business.

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT?

Virtual Assistant's are defined as a highly skilled, independent professional who remotely provides administrative, technical and/or creative business support services.

Canva.com comes with thousands of stock pictures and eye-catching templates. I use and highly recommend Canva Pro to unlock over a million high quality pictures, elegant fonts, and resizable templates.

RESOURCES TO START YOUR VIRTUAL ASSISTANT BUSINESS

Starting a Virtual Assistant business is easiest when you know where to find the support and help you need. Visit my Resources page.

The number one thing you will need is clients.

Joining a professional Virtual Assistant Association or membership, such as these I belong to will give you access to training, networking, and job boards.

For example, VAinsiders.com Yearly Membership Club for Virtual Assistants comes with coaching and comprehensive training.

HOW TO BE A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

Like any business, you will need a business plan, and expect some start-up costs too.

You will need a reliable Internet connection, home office space, and a computer or laptop to work on. You will also need software and storage for client files, such as with pCloud.

NAMING & BRANDING YOUR VA BUSINESS

What's in a name, you ask. Well a lot. A Virtual Assistant business can be named after yourself, your skills, your hometown, or something creative related to tech or being a VA.

A good tip is to pick something that is distinct and memorable. Once you have that in place, secure your domain and social media handles.

For the website, you can use Wix.com or Website.com for a user-friendly builder. You will need a logo and other brand assets.

Canva.com is an amazing free online design tool to create content for your business and social media. #CanvaLove
